OCA Scholarship
Overview
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ’s College Old Collegians Association (OCA) Scholarship is awarded to two Year 12 students each year and rewards each recipient with a 50 per cent tuition fee scholarship.
It is open to sons and/or grandsons of Old Collegians.
The scholarship was formally ratified and launched in September 2020 following months of hard work by a dedicated OCA Sub-Committee comprised of Old Collegians Stephen McMahon (SPC 1986-91), Kieran Murnane (SPC 1988-93) and Chris Torpy (SPC 1989-94).
The OCA Scholarship is not necessarily allocated to the smartest student or the best athlete or the pre-eminent musician. The scholarship is targeted towards two students who have contributed in many ways to the school.
Once applications are received, the OCA, in collaboration with senior College staff, will determine a shortlist of students who will be invited to attend an interview.
Following that process, the interview panel will recommend to the College Principal the names of two students to receive the OCA Scholarship for their Year 12 year.
The successful recipients must:
- Maintain their high values throughout their final year of schooling;
- Repay the scholarship should he leave ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ÊÓƵ’s College for another school or for employment before completing his Year 12 studies; and
- Agree to speak at an end-of-year meeting of the OCA about their time at the College.
Application Process
Parents of boys in Year 11 in 2023 are encouraged to work with their son to complete the application process.
Applications for 2024 have now closed.
