We were notified by the family of the passing of Old Collegian John Ryan (SPC 1953-55, PY1956), aged 85.
John, who was husband to Nyrie, father to Stephen, Karyn, Shane, Jonathan and Brett and a treasured grandfather and great-grandfather, sadly passed away on 26 October 2024.
His Funeral was held at St Peter鈥檚 and Paul鈥檚 Catholic Church in Quambatook.
John spent nearly all his life living and farming in the Quambatook area before moving to Bendigo in his later years.
He was a well-known identity in Quamby and moving tributes recalled there wouldn鈥檛 have been an organisation or club in town that John wasn鈥檛 involved with or supported.
In another tribute, 鈥渉e with Nyrie made sure our children were safely delivered to school on their bus鈥�.
He was also remembered as a champion tennis player, and after retiring from tennis, turning to bowls.
